“Casa dos americanos” es el nombre con el que se conoce a este inmueble en Borneiro y ello se debe a sus propietarios, Eugeio y Hermelinda, un matrimonio gallego emigrado a la República Argentina en los años 50.
La historia de Eugenio y Hermelinda es una de tantos gallegos que se vieron obligados por causas económicas a iniciar una diáspora, que en los años cincuenta se dirigía mayoritariamente a Argentina y en su mayor parte a la ciudad de Buenos Aires (posteriormente llamada la quinta provincia gallega).
Tras largos años de esfuerzos e importantes logros, llegada su jubilación decidieron volver a la tierra que les vió nacer y compraron esta vivienda, la cual disfrutaron durante más de 20 años.
